Weather Safety Reminders

As our temperatures hover near (or below!) freezing in the mornings please remember to dress your kids appropriately for this type of weather. Students should be adequately prepared to handle the outside conditions waiting at a bus stop, walking to and from school, or playing on the playground.

Also, please remind your kids that even in poor weather conditions they should not accept rides from unknown individuals or approaching unknown vehicles and/or persons. Students should report anything suspicious to their bus driver, school personnel, parent/guardian or local law enforcement.

Sometimes the weather conditions are bad enough that school is closed. In those instances NCSD follows our Inclement Weather Protocol. Please be familiar with this protocol and remember, the primary responsibility in protecting a child’s health and school attendance always resides with the parent or guardian.
