CYMS Students Participate in High Altitude Balloon Launch

It was cloudy and calm on the morning of April 20 when CY Middle School students gathered outside to witness the launch of a high-altitude balloon. The balloon had company on its voyage in the form of six small packages attached to a cord trailing below the helium-filled balloon. Several of these packages contained items packed by CY 6th and 8th grade science students.

NCSD Dress Code Reminder

The Natrona County School District Board of Trustees believes the way you look and speak affects your behavior and academic performance. To make sure your students have the best opportunity to succeed there is a district dress code policy. As the weather begins to get warmer (despite this recent snow!) please keep the dress code in mind, and help your children be successful at school!

Please check out the link below for the dress code guidelines, the full policy, and the dress code video:

Good Attendance = High Achievement

NCSD recognizes that attendance is a very important part of learning.  Our community expects students to be present and participate in class every day, just as they expect their employees to be at work. Regular, complete, and continued class attendance by students is essential to the accomplishment of their educational goals and high achievement in school. Doing well in school is great, but there are plenty of reasons to have good attendance. Check out just a few of them in this video:

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

The Natrona County School District will be participating in the national “Take Our
Daughters and Sons to Work Day” on April 26th, 2018. NCSD employees are
encouraged to participate in this event with their children/guardians if they
choose. Additionally, parents/guardians who are interested in participating in
this national event can visit the below website for more information.

“Designed to be more than a career day, the Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work program goes beyond the average practice of “shadowing” an adult. Exposing girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their lives does during the workday is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life, providing them an opportunity to share how they envision the future, and allowing them to begin steps toward their end goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving success.”

Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day will be on Thursday, April 26, 2018.
