NCSD COVID-19 Community Information Status Update

The Natrona County School District remains committed to the timely, consistent, and transparent dissemination of public information while ensuring we are protecting student and staff privacy, as related to known COVID-19 impacts on school and district facilities.

As recently reported by local and state health officials, there has been a significant rise of COVID-19 cases and related impacts within Natrona County. At this time, there has not been a determination made by the Casper-Natrona County Health Department and health officers of COVID-19 spread within the school environment. However, we are seeing an increase of students and staff placed in quarantine or isolation as related to COVID-19 impacts from outside the school/district environment.

As a result of the magnitude of COVID-19 quarantines and isolations throughout the community, NCSD will no longer be reporting daily updates of student/staff COVID-19 positives within the school environment.

We are committed to being accurate and efficient with our reporting process and it simply is not possible to accurately report daily updates and information due to the understandable delays in the processing and receipt of information. We commend our local healthcare professionals, the Casper-Natrona County Health Department, and all first responders for their diligent work and service, always, but especially during this global pandemic.

The Natrona County School District will be providing weekly updates, on Friday of each week, of known COVID-19 impacts to school/district facilities. This will include the total number of students and staff in isolation or quarantine at this point in time. We will include the school/location and the number of students/staff impacted, as long as identification falls within the aggregated reporting requirements of FERPA. If at any time, the disclosure of information could allow for the identification of a specific individual, the information will not be released.
