Journey Elementary Students Learn from Community Partners!

Journey Elementary Kindergarten and First-Grade students spent time this morning learning from community resource partners and checking out their rides!

Journey Elementary is committed to providing an engaging learning environment for students, based on differentiated instruction. The school does this through enrichment opportunities as well as extra support with close links back into the local community. #EverydayExcellence

Students got to visit with the Casper Fire-EMS, Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping, Inc., City Service Electric Company, Casper Police Department, and M.A.D. Transportation and Towing to learn about the important roles they play in our community.

Todd from Casper Fire Station 2 said: “The best part about coming to the schools is to see how excited the kids are to see our tools and to educate them about safety. It’s not just about fire safety either, we go over sitting in their car seats and using their seatbelts. Of course, we also talk to them about not playing with matches and if there is a fire, how to get out safely and to call 911 when they need help.”

Tim with Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping, Inc said: “It’s great to be able to teach the students that these types of industries are out there and it’s something they can be a part of when they get older.”

Thank you to our dedicated and terrific community partners for taking the time to share your work and experience with our students! You are appreciated!
