February is Career and Technical Education Month!

Career and Technical Education refers to educational programs in schools and colleges that specialize in skilled trades, applied sciences, modern technologies, and career preparation. On Monday, February 5th, Governor Mark Gordon signed a proclamation designating February as Career and Technical Education Month. This recognizes how CTE offers students the opportunity to gain academic, technical, and job skills necessary for career readiness ensuring a qualified workforce in the future. The Governor was joined by State Superintendent Jillian Balow, Speaker Of the House Steve Harshman, President of WACTE Rob Hill, Assistant Principal of Pathways Innovation Center Ron Estes, PIC student Katherine Bennett, and student representatives from DECA, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, and Skills USA.
