Verda James Elementary Spreads Holiday Joy Across the Community

This special event is a highly anticipated and joyful tradition for students, staff, and school families. Each year, students excitedly learn about different organizations in the community, the importance of giving back to others, and identify which non-profit agency they would like to choose as their stewardship project. This year, students, staff, and school families generously gathered donations of hats, gloves, toys, bedding, and more for the Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, the Salvation Army Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, Deployed Solidies with the Wyoming National Guard, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Classes delivered meals and shared holiday greetings, caroling with Meals on Wheels, while also sharing their time and artistic talents to create beautiful cards to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to those who may need an extra sprinkle of holiday joy this year!

Verda James stewardship projects started with the goal and intention of finding opportunities to give back to the community while encouraging leadership and service, explained Principal Frazier. “Each year, the projects grow bigger. The Verda James community works together to create a wonderful educational experience. Everyone comes together to spread kindness to our Casper community. The goal of giving back continues, and the synergy created with everyone working together truly represents the purpose of the stewardship projects.”
