The Natrona County School District Food Services Department recently purchased 1,600 pounds of Wyoming-bred, raised, and processed beef. Local business Frank's Butcher Shop supplied the beef at a cost-efficient price, allowing the district to offer a variety of delicious meals that students will love. This initiative not only supports local agriculture but also enhances the nutritional value of meals served in our schools.
Connecting local producers and school cafeterias, Wyoming Farm to School highlights the importance of healthy food and agricultural education. Thank you to all the amazing and hard-working ranchers and farmers who provide exceptional resources and agricultural products to our schools and communities.
Upcoming lunch options will include student favorites such as nachos, chili, tacos, and sloppy joes, all featuring fresh, local beef.
“We are committed to providing tasty, nutritious, and cost-effective meals for students and staff while also investing in our local economy. It’s a win-win for our students and the community,” said Desiree McAdams, Director of NCSD Food Services.
