Students stepped through the doors of NCSD's Casper Planetarium and into the vast universe of scientific wonder! Throughout the year, NCSD's stellar staff members host camps and enrichment activities for students, featuring scientific experiments and lessons about the galaxy and beyond.
Verda James Elementary students explored the five senses of the body, learning how they interact with each other and the different ways we use them each day. As part of this scientific exploration, students tested their sense of smell by identifying different scent extracts.
Park Elementary students journeyed through the four seasons, learning how the Earth's axis and rotation around the sun affect our environments. Students created sun wheels to help them remember the astronomical seasons.
The Natrona County School District Casper Planetarium program has provided students, families, and the entire community the opportunity to step off into space and explore the vast universe with their sophisticated starship since 1966! Sporting the latest digital planetarium technology from Digitalis Education Solutions, the planetarium is Casper's virtual starship and time machine.
As a part of the Natrona County School District, the Casper Planetarium's primary focus is the support of the K-12 curriculum standards in science. The NCSD Planetarium supports the classroom curriculum with shows, lessons, and activities designed to meet grade-level standards.
