Midwest Student Council Positively Impacts Their School Community

Midwest Student Council positively impacts their school community by creating fun and memorable experiences for all! Student Council members work to contribute to a positive school environment through community service projects, school spirit initiatives, and engaging activities while developing their leadership skills.

With a variety of service projects, students spread joy and kindness throughout their school community. Students have created opportunities to give back to their peers, community, and Midwest staff by providing tokens of appreciation, fundraising efforts to benefit Make-A-Wish Wyoming, and covering sections of the walls at school with statements of positive affirmations and kindness reminders. Student Council member Brooklynn Griggs shares, “I love being part of the Student Council because the meetings are so productive and so full of ideas. It is so fun seeing everyone get excited about the great ideas and working together. We work to make the school a more fun and positive environment for everyone.”

Serving as representatives of the student body, they strive to promote active participation and collaboration of student voices, ideas, interests, and concerns within the school community. “Being a part of the student council lets you have a voice. Not only for yourself but for all students,” shared Student Council member Samantha Alvarado. “You have to think twice about your words and actions because you are representing the school and the student body. Student Council helps me grow as a person and get out of my comfort zone. It is a really great way to meet more people.”
