The Natrona County School District is excited to work together with school families as you prepare for your child's next steps toward Kindergarten! We know the start of Kindergarten for the next school year is still a ways away, but NOW is the time to begin preparing for the upcoming School Choice Registration 2024-2025.

Kindergarten Screenings: Once you have a Parent Portal account, please log into your account to SIGN UP for your child's Kindergarten Screening!
We believe school readiness is an important foundation for a child's successful academic journey. Kindergarten Screenings are opportunities for teachers and families to work together to prepare students for a fun, engaging, and successful educational experience. The Kindergarten Screening provides NCSD with information so we can prepare classrooms, resources, and opportunities to meet the educational needs of all incoming Kindergarten students. The screening is one way to determine the child's readiness for school while providing families with more information and resources to prepare for the upcoming school year.

NCSD Open House Schedule
School Choice Registration for all families is December 28th, 2023 - Jan 19th, 2024. This process is for families of incoming Kindergarten students, families of students moving into middle school (5th to 6th) or high school (8th to 9th), and any others interested in changing schools next year. If your child is not new to the District or moving schools, you do not need to complete this process.
We encourage families to visit schools during their upcoming Open House nights to learn more about the terrific opportunities available across the district!

Dual Language Immersion Parent Meetings: NEW Kindergarten Families for 2024-2025
NCSD Kindergarten Enrollment for the upcoming 2024-2025 Academic Year begins during the School Choice Registration window.
Parents and guardians interested in a Dual Language Immersion Program must attend a DLI informational meeting to be eligible for potential enrollment into the DLI program(s).
Dual Language Immersion is a parent choice program that begins in Kindergarten at the following schools: Paradise Valley Elementary School (Mandarin Chinese), Park Elementary School (Spanish), and Verda James Elementary School (Spanish). The DLI program continues into middle school at CY (Mandarin Chinese) and Dean Morgan (Spanish). Students must be enrolled in the elementary program beginning in Kindergarten in order to be eligible to continue in middle school.
The DLI parent meetings for incoming kindergarten students are scheduled for the following dates and times:
- Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM
- Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 6:00 PM.
All of the above meetings will be held at NCSD's Central Services.
