Paradise Valley Tigers Spend Weekend Making Community Connections!

“Jumping” into the weekend, Principal Thielbar joined some excited PV Tigers as they braved the freezing water for Special Olympic Wyoming’s annual Jackalope Jump fundraiser. “Special Olympics Wyoming is a terrific organization supporting families in our community and around the state,” shared Principal Thielbar. “I was honored to jump with my team on behalf of our PV Tigers for such an excellent cause.”

Not interested in letting their Principal have all the fun, the Paradise Valley Elementary Student Council members participated in the annual Bowling for Jason’s Friends fundraiser on Saturday. Together, the teams raised over $1,000 dollars to support Jason’s Friends Foundation, a local agency assisting Wyoming families with children from birth through the age of twenty diagnosed with cancer, brain tumors, or spinal cord tumors.

Student Council members in grades 3rd-5th are chosen by their peers for the leadership group at the beginning of the school year. PV teachers Marcy Marvel and Michelle Holden oversee the leadership group and enjoy watching the kiddos come up with unique and fun ways to showcase their leadership skills and kindness throughout the school!

Paradise Valley Elementary is committed to ensuring students are globally competent through investigating the world around them, recognizing their own and others’ perspectives, communicating ideas, and taking action. “At Paradise Valley, we look at the whole child. We are focused on teaching and growing students as they excel in academics while working together with our community for student participation in opportunities that support others and provide a chance to learn and be part of things greater than ourselves. Between both events, money was raised into the thousands, but what the students learned and gained with the experiences was even more valuable. I couldn’t be more proud of all of our PV Tigers!”

Exceptional work, PV students and staff!
