This special project is a highly-anticipated and joyous tradition for students, staff, and school families. A yearly tradition at Verda James, students look forward to the chance to come together as a school community while enjoying the season of giving and joy!
After learning about the various community organizations and what they do, each grade level identifies a stewardship project of their choosing. This year, students, staff, and school families, graciously collected items for Seton House, NCSD homeless students, the Salvation Army Angel Tree, Casper Christmas Card Project, the Humane Society, and Meals on Wheels. Over the last few weeks, students gathered donations of hats, gloves, toys, pet food, and more. They also shared their time and artistic talents to create beautiful cards to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to those who may need an extra sprinkle of holiday joy this year!
Verda James stewardship projects started under the leadership of former school Principal Mr. Ellbogen with the goal and intention of finding opportunities to give back to the community while encouraging leadership and service of students explained Principal Frazier. “Each year, the projects grow bigger. The Verda James community works together throughout the year to create a wonderful educational experience. At this time of year, everyone comes together to spread kindness to our Casper community. The goal of giving back continues, and the synergy created with everyone working together truly represents the purpose of the stewardship projects.”
