Social Studies (grades K-12), Career and Vocational Education (grades 6-12), and Foreign Language (grades K-12) will have primary learning resources on display from March 14 -April 11, 2019.  If you would like to view resources reviewed by NCSD Subject Area Committees, please schedule an appointment with LeAnn Aagard by calling (307) 252-5238 or by email leann_aagard@natronaschools.org.  These resources will be available from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in Room 132 at Natrona County Central Services Facility 970 North Glenn Rd. Casper, WY 82601.   The primary learning resources will go to the NCSD Board of Trustees for approval at the conclusion of the public comment period.

NCSD Primary Learning Resources:  All students must have access to curriculum and resources at their grade level in all nine content areas. Our District’s primary learning resources adoption dollars are responsible for purchasing every child’s core curriculum resources. A school’s dollar allocation will be based on a student per pupil expenditure. Programs such as DLI, ELL, GT, Advanced K, Classic K, BASE, FLS, ILS, and SPED Resource must select and purchase resources to meet the needs of students and align to NCSD Curriculum using an individual school’s allocation (per pupil expenditure). Programs such as Title I, Title III, Tutoring, GT, and Special Education may purchase supplemental materials outside of the child’s core curriculum resources for teachers and students with approval from the specific program director.

Comments can be submitted electronically using the links below or in person during viewing.

Board of Trustees Approved Resources

Natrona County School District is establishing an aligned, articulated and assessed curriculum, commonly referred to as a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum, in all nine content areas.  This work is being done in accordance with the NCSD Long Range Plan by Subject Area Committees comprised of members from a variety of schools, grade levels, and courses.

Fine and Performing Arts and Physical Education are in year four of this process and have worked to develop aligned assessments and evaluate resources according to the Fine and Performing Arts/P.E Learning Resources Timeline.  The Fine and Performing Arts and P.E. Subject Area Committees’ evaluations of all publisher-submitted resources may be viewed in the Fine and Performing Arts Resource Review Portal and the P.E. Resource Review Portal.  This information is provided to assist schools in making an informed decision in selecting resources which meet the needs of their students and support the NCSD Curriculum.

Fine and Performing Arts and P.E. resources are displayed and available for public comment at Natrona County School District Central Services 970 N. Glenn Road.  The original public display and comment period for subject area committee recommended resources was February 13, 2017 – March 10, 2017.  The Board of Trustees approved Fine and Performing Arts Resources and P.E. Recommended Resources on April 10, 2017.   Publisher provided sample resources remain on display.  Schools may schedule a preview of the recommended resources at CSF by calling LeAnn Aagard at 253-5238.

At this time, schools may contact publishers for samples to preview and/or pricing information.  Schools are submitting Fine and Performing Arts and/or P.E. Resource Selection School Plans. The school ordering process begins for recommended resources and for school selected resources, upon approval.  School resource selection and ordering process continues May 2018 through December 2019.
