High School Academic Projects Update

The four high school principals Brad Diller (KWHS), Shannon Harris (NCHS), Chris Tobin (Midwest), and Shawna Trujillo (Roosevelt) presented the latest efforts their schools have made in order to prepare for the academies program that is launching next school year. All 10th and 11th grade students recently attended meetings with Academy Coaches, Administrators, and high school counselors regarding course scheduling, class options, and pathway choices. In addition, parents were invited to Pathways Information Meeting nights where the same information was shared. A video from the NCHS Parent Presentation can be found here.

Construction Projects Report

Dennis Bay, NCSD’s Executive Director of Business Services, presented his monthly construction update. Below are some highlights:

  • The academies building/Roosevelt High School site North Parking lot is paved and access road and service drives are paved
  • 2nd & 3rd floors East wing painting ongoing at NCHS
  • Dean Morgan Renovations and Campus Planning: New loading dock handrail is complete, New West doors/windows have been installed (to athletic fields)
  • The old CYJH building demolition is nearing completion – in preparation of the new capacity elementary school on that site

Recognition of Casper FFA National Finalists and FFA Update

The Board of Trustees recognized the Casper FFA National Finalists and received an update from the students on their accomplishments at the 88th Annual National FFA Convention as well as their work within the school and community.

In other news…

The District Bills and Consent Agenda Items were voted on and approved.

The personnel report was approved and is attached for reference.

The next Board meeting will be held on December 14 at the Central Services building (970 N. Glenn Rd.) at 7:30 p.m.
