What If Stories

What if the guy next door was really a sandwich. I already know the guy next door was mean but what if he were just a lonely, unhappy sandwich. We only figured this because whenever someone ate a sandwich he would scream and give dirty looks. To investigate I called over my friend Alex, master of mystery. Over the next few days we were searching around looking for evidence to prove that the guy next door was a sandwich.
We watched for hours, and nothing sandwich happened. So we decided that once the old man left we would break into his house and search for clues. A couple days later Alex and I saw the man put a yellow key under a brick. As soon as he left we rushed over. Alex, being the mystery master told me he was hiding the key to his house. So I took the key and unlocked the door.
As we came in Alex looked terrified at the thought of what might be in there. The first thing we did was scream. All over the walls were pictures of people eating sandwiches. We left as soon as possible. We were so desperate to find out about this guy we invited him to the mall. The test was to see if he would burst when we went by Subway.

What if the people next door really were ..............
As we walked our dogs I noticed little Atom II was wearing wrist and ankle weights. He had a heavy winter jacket on over four layers of clothing and it was 90 degrees outside!
I asked curiously, "What's up with all the clothes?"
Atom's high-pitched voice squealed back at me, "I'm just chilled. That's all."
"But it's 90 degrees out here. How can you be cold?"
"I think I'm coming down with the flu."
Suddenly, the dog took off chasing a bird and Atom was jerked so hard he was drug to the ground with leash and dog in tow. After the dog had run out of steam, poor Atom had some nasty road-rash on his hands. As I helped him to his feet, I noticed a hissing sound, like vapor escaping a balloon. As I peered down trying to help Atom up, I noticed his hands shriveling up like raisins. "Whoah, Atom. What's happening?"
Before he could answer, I heard a "clank, clank" from the ankle and wrist weights hitting the ground and saw a heap of clothes with nothing but wrinkled flat Atom inside.....
