Budget
The Natrona County School District manages some $284 million annually. The general fund of $151 million provides for the day-to-day operation of the district, including the salaries and wages of more than 2,500 employees, the education of 11,500 students, and the operation of 36 buildings.
In addition, special funds provide for capital projects and maintenance of facilities, pass-through money for federal and state education programs, and the national food services program.
District committees work through a consensus process to establish budget recommendations each year. A draft budget is developed through the NCSD Business Services Division, and the NCSD Board of Trustees votes on a final budget each July, as required by state law.
