Update on Report Received by NCHS officials on February 13, 2018

Natrona County High School Administrators have reviewed surveillance camera video of the school property. NCHS Administrators interviewed staff members who were monitoring the parking lot and campus at the time of the incident, they did not find information that concluded the incident occurred on campus. Additionally, persons who may have information on the incident were interviewed during the investigation and local law enforcement was contacted as part of the investigation.

It has been determined the incident occurred after school hours and off of school grounds, approximately 2 blocks away from campus.The scope of authority for the school district in disciplinary actions is limited to events on school campus or during school sponsored events/activities, including NCSD transportation.  While the incident on February 13 occurred off campus, NCSD does not condone or tolerate behavior by students, staff, or visitors which insults, degrades, or stereotypes any race, gender, disability, physical characteristics, ethnic group, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or religion. We are committed to creating a learning and working environment that is free from harassment or discrimination and are committed to pursuit of equality for all school community members and the promotion of positive attitudes which respect the cultural diversity of our society.

NCHS officials will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the actions do not carry over onto school campus or disrupt school operations. There will be an increased awareness in and around the school campus to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
