Centennial Honors Eighth Graders

Eighth grade students being recognized for outstanding achievement while attending Centennial Junior High School were honored at the annual Eighth Grade Honors Program on Thursday, May 10, 2012.

Shawn Gremp was honored by the American Legion as Representative Boy and Abbey Kersenbrock was honored by the American Legion Auxiliary as Representative Girl. Runners up were Allyn Harris, Abbie Richards, Annie Wheeler, Samantha Zirger, Tyler Brownlow, Keegan Hornby, Trevor Isais, and Dylan Wisser.

Allyn Harris and James Butler were chosen by the Centennial Faculty to receive the Outstanding Citizenship Awards.

The Hunter Lewis Fittje Inspirational Award was given to Allyn Harris.

Presidential Academic Excellence Awards were presented to: Vivian Bekke, Tyler Brownlow, Taylynn Dupree, Megan Foley, Shawn Gremp, Trevor Isais, Christopher Juhl, Abbey Kersenbrock, Alethea Oiterong, Abbie Richards, Lindsey Richardson, Dawson Roscoe, Katelyn Smith, Destinee Spurlin, Madison VanCoillie, Briauna White, Samantha Zirger, Dylan Wisser, Annie Wheeler, Deanna Welsh, Derek Walton, Shaina Stottlemyer, Courtney Stai, Zachary Sixbey, Ellie Rone, Malaya Morisette, Jeremy Miller, Stephanie Lyon, Phoebe Johnson, Crissa Jennings, Ryan Isennock, Keegan Hornby, Chaise Hedlund, Allyn Harris, Lindsay Goodwin, Robert George, Drew Fritzler, Molly Fretland, Lauren Foy, Jocelyn Engen, Shayne Copeland, MaKenzie Colling, Chelsea Andersen, and Faith Brungardt.

Academic Achievement Awards were given to Reannon Bigley, Haley Christopher, Harley Martin, Tyler Gomez, Joshua Walbridge, Jordan Baker, Gabe Cisneros, Domenich Gumfory, Ben Vallot, Merrik VanNeste, Alex Elliott, and Gabrielle Gibson.

The Outstanding Mathematics Student Award went to Izaiah Restad and Stephanie Lyon. Certificates of Achievement were given to Deanna Welsh, Ellie Rone, Phoebe Johnson, Taylor Bedsaul, Abbey Kersenbrock, Lindsey Richardson, Samantha Zirger, and Christopher Juhl. The Most Improved Students were Reannon Bigley and Rayleigh Coursen.

Awards for Excellence in Language Arts were given to Deanna Welsh, Courtney Stai, Ellie Rone, Phoebe Johnson, Allyn Harris, Drew Fritzler, Lauren Foy, Jocelyn Engen, Abbey Kersenbrock, Abbie Richards, and Samantha Zirger. The Outstanding English Award went to Dylan Wisser and Abbie Richards. The Most Improved Award was given to Taylynn Dupree and Chace Whitney.

The Outstanding Social Studies Award went to Annie Wheeler and Samantha Zirger. The Most Improved Social Studies students were Caleb Enders and Echo Gifford. Awards were given to Dylan Wisser, Ellie Rone, Phoebe Johnson, Jocelyn Engen, Makenzie Colling. Alethea Oiterong, Tiyana Flippo, Shawn Gremp, Nicholas Jones, Abbey Kersenbrock, Megan Foley, Abbie Richards, Lindsey Richardson, Katelyn Smith, Destinee Spurlin, Madison VanCoillie, and Samantha Zirger.

The Outstanding Science Award was presented to Jocelyn Engen and Abbey Kersenbrock. The Most Improved Student Award was given to Justice Metcalf and Corbin Cardenas. Achievement Awards were given to Courtney Stai, Ellie Rone, Jeremy Miller, Stephanie Lyon, Phoebe Johnson, Ryan Isennock, Keegan Hornby, Drew Fritzler, Makenzie Colling, Breanna Ogden, Abbey Kersenbrock, Megan Foley, and Samantha Zirger.

Students receiving Academic Achievement Awards in Spanish were: Ellie Rone, Courtney Stai, Allyn Harris, Molly Fretland, Robert George, Keegan Hornby, and Alethea Oiterong. The Outstanding Students were Abbey Kersenbrock and Samantha Zirger.

The Director's Award in Band went to Abbie Richards. The Most Improved Awards went to Cord Meike and the Spirit Award was presented to Samantha Zirger, LyAnn Drake, and Abbie Richards.

The Outstanding Music Award was presented to Shayne Copeland.

The Director's Award in Orchestra went to McKenzie Bowden. The Spirit Award was presented to Seraiah Dobbins and Christopher Alboro and the Most Improved Award was given to Jamie Morrison and Derek Walton.

Art Student Awards were given to Abbey Kersenbrock and Briauna White.

The Outstanding Physical Education student awards were presented to Molly Fretland, James Butler, and Robert George. Certificates were given to Dawson Roscoe, Lindsey Richardson, Abbey Kersenbrock, Christopher Juhl, Nicholas Jones, Trevor Isais, Megan Foley, Austin Brack, Charles Walters, Samantha Zirger, Katelyn Smith, Tanner Christensen, Jocelyn Engen, Molly Fretland, Lindsay Goodwin, Allyn Harris, Chaise Hedlund, Cydnee Hillhouse, Ryan Isennock, Jeremy Miller, Malaya Morisette, Ellie Rone, Tristan Skinner, and Merrik VanNeste.

Academic Achievement Awards in the field of Metal Tech were given to: Abbie Richards and Keegan Hornby. The Outstanding Metal Tech student was James Butler. The Outstanding Woodworking student was Abbie Richards. Certificates of Achievement were given to: Jeremy Miller, Malaya Morrisette, Jocelyn Engen, Lindsey Richardson, and Robert George.

Student Council Achievement Awards were given to Samantha Zirger and Abbey Kersenbrock.
