Speak up, speak out in employee survey
09.28.2010

NCSD employees will be invited to participate in an employee engagement survey Sept. 27 to Oct. 11. This is your chance to speak out and have your voice heard! Tell us how you feel about your job, your work environment, and the work of the Natrona County School District.

You will get an e-mail invitation to participate in the survey. Be sure to check your FirstClass e-mail between Sept. 27 and Oct. 11 to participate. If you do not have daily access to a computer, ask your supervisor for help.

The survey is just 12 questions and should take about eight minutes to complete.

Your answers are confidential. The survey is being conducted by the Gallup Organization, a worldwide leader in polls. Your personal responses will be seen only by Gallup, not by anyone at NCSD.

Overall results will be compiled at the district, school, and department level to help the continuous improvement process. This survey connects to the district’s strategic goal #4 — Safe and Healthy People -— and to similar school goals.

You can help make things better. Administrators and supervisors will receive training in how to address the results. Employees will be able to join teams to improve their work situations.

The survey measures employee “engagement,” not satisfaction. Engagement means how much you are invested in your work and how much you believe you can make a difference. It is a research-based predictor of attendance, safety and productivity. Employee engagement also is known to impact student engagement and, therefore, academic success.

Students will have a chance to complete a similar survey Oct. 11-29. The student survey is offered across the nation. It measures student engagement, hope, and wellbeing. Students in grades 5-12 will take the survey in class.
