“A small community setting that works”

At Frontier Middle School we are a small community setting that works together as a team each and every day.  Within that small school setting we provide life skills, values, and a caring environment that will empower students to be successful and prepared to enter high school.  We concentrate on differentiated instruction that relies on relevant learning to be successful in the 21st Century.

A focus on:

  • Relevance
  • Rigor
  • Relationships

The FMS family strives to create a positive environment in which all are challenged and inspired to achieve their potential.

FMS educators teach the district’s curriculum emphasizing literacy and STEM activities.  Our literacy components are taught through our Language Arts classroom with support from our Read 180 classes and MIRP (individualized reading in the media center).  STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  Our STEM program is integrated through our CTE (Career Tech Ed), math and science classrooms to provide more hands-on activities that engage students on a daily basis.  FMS teachers focus on an educational process that addresses the needs of individual students by providing small student-to-teacher ratio’s in core classes (Math, English, Science & Social Studies).  Each day begins with Home Den/Advisory, which allows adults to build relationships through character education (Second Step), Proficiency help, enrichment programs and STEM Friday’s.  Students may participate in Art, PE, CTE, Spanish, Band, Orchestra, Choir and Music Appreciation.  Additional academic supports include English Language Arts tutors, Math Tutors, Social Skills tutors, special needs classes, and enrichment labs.  Frontier has adopted the Second Step program!  This program helps students develop and deal with social and emotional issues.

Frontier students have the opportunity for after-school athletics through a partnership campus sports program with Casper Classical Academy, including football (grades seven and eight), volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, soccer and cheerleading.   Students also may participate in a variety of activities and clubs, such as National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, Lego Robotics, Yearbook, Student council, Coding, Chess, and more.  Additional clubs/sports are available depending on student interest.
