Mission: Learning and Growing: Every person, Everyday, in Every Way

Crest Hill Elementary, home of the Dragons, is located at the base of Casper Mountain and serves students in classic kindergarten through fifth grade. Our philosophical focus is on the development of the whole child. We are dedicated to making sure all children are safe, healthy, challenged, supported, and engaged in school. We also believe that families are a very important part of the Crest Hill community. We are proud of our strong parental partnerships.

Curriculum

Crest Hill students study and practice math concepts using the Common Core Standards with an emphasis on constructivist theory. In language arts, students learn to read using small-guided reading groups and books tailored to their individual levels. Writing is a key focus for the school enhanced by an in-school writing center where many students have been published in national professional publications. Science is taught using an inquiry-based model that encourages children to ask questions and seek out answers through experimentation. Students in classic kindergarten through fifth grade take general music classes. Fifth grade students have an additional opportunity to join a before school band or orchestra program. All students have a one-hour block of art each week, as well as two 30-minute PE sessions each week.
