School Description:

Powder River School is located off Hwy. 20/26, about 40 miles west of Casper in the town of Powder River.

The school serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade in a single multiage classroom. A certified teacher provides small group and individual instruction based on students’ individual educational needs.

Though there’s only one full-time teacher, Powder River students have access to a teaching assistant, a classroom packed with computers, a full gym, a second classroom stocked with musical instruments, an art room filled with easels and art supplies, a playground, and a small library and greenhouse.

The school interacts closely with its community, which is comprised mostly of students’ extended families. Powder River is a small, safe, and fun learning environment.
