NCSD Program Changes

Below please find information regarding Natrona County School District changes to District Functional Life Skills, District Classic Kindergarten, and District Title I Pre-school(s) programs as a result of school closures and enrollment trends at NCSD. These program changes will take effect for the 2018-2019 Academic Year.

Announcements regarding these changes are being made as early as possible to allow for an ease of transition for students in these specialized programs. Additionally, the District Open Enrollment window is January 3-17th and information regarding program offerings at schools is needed in order to provide ample opportunities for parents and students to gather information and to make the best choice possible for a new school.

District Functional Life Skills programs will be located at the following schools:

o   Crest Hill Elementary

o   Cottonwood Elementary

o   Pineview Elementary

  • Willard Elementary FLS Programs (K-2 and 3-5) will move to Pineview Elementary. Students in the FLS program will have the opportunity to move with the program, program teachers, and support staff to the new location.

o   Mountain View FLS Program will be closing at the end of the 2017-18 Academic Year due to enrollment trends (district programs are evaluated annually based on program enrollment). Teachers will work directly with the affected families to create connections throughout the year with schools offering the program moving forward.

District Classic Kindergarten programs will be located at the following schools:

o   Southridge Elementary

o   Fort Caspar Academy

o   Crest Hill Elementary

Students currently in Classic Kindergarten will move forward as part of the District Open Enrollment process for transition into Kindergarten.

District Title I Pre-schools programs will be located at the following schools:

o   Bar Nunn Elementary

o   Cottonwood Elementary

o   Evansville Elementary

o   Journey Elementary

o   Lincoln Elementary

o   Midwest Elementary

o   Pineview Elementary

Students currently in Pre-school who are age 4 or older will move forward as part of the District Enrollment process for transition into Kindergarten. Students currently in Pre-school who are age 3 will have preference during the Open Enrollment process to choose placement in one of the District Pre-school programs.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this transition process. For questions or comments please email communications@myncsd.org and your feedback will be shared with the appropriate person(s).
