KWHS Teacher Earns Award at WACTE Conference

Kelly Walsh High School Industrial Arts and Technical Education teacher Lucas Dow was recently awarded the “WACTE  Innovative CTE Program” award. Making him among the distinguished recipients up for the award at the 2015 Region V conference last week in Overland Park, Kansas!

His fellow teacher, Mr. Rob Hill, was among those who recommended Mr. Dow for the award: “I consider Mr. Dow to be a leader in his field because of his desire to constantly change, keeping pace with industry. His students use Google Docs to track lumber supplies, electronic forms to document daily reporting, and a Moodle site for curriculum enhancements. Through the use of iPads and personal apps, students use technology much like industry does. Lucas understands the value of integrating subjects into his curriculum and works with math and physical education teachers to make subjects life like. He has left a profound influence on me as a mentor, team teaching partner and as a colleague.”
